YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) is one of the best guides to what is new and popular in young adult literature. All of the new YALSA top 10 (as voted on by young adults all across the US) books are now in. See them on the book shelf in "The Nest". Also in are the Golden Sower top 10 nominees. They are in a display by the printer. If you are looking for some good reads, this is the best place to start!
Just in today is the fourth and final book in the "Unwind" series by Neal Shusterman. "Rewind" will be on the shelves today...assuming you can get it away from me! :-) We also just received the Spanish version of "Unwind" and if there is interest in them, we will order the remaining three books in Spanish.
We are getting in some pretty interesting non - fiction books as well. "Fourth Down and Inches" is a great new book about concussions in football. Not only does it give examples of people who have had concussions and their eventual symptoms, it talks about the medical issues surrounding concussions, and long term effects.
Mr. Hostert teaches about the Stuarts and Tudors in England's history. You might be interested in several new books that have come in on that topic. Most recently, we have Allison Plowden's "The House Of Tudor".
We are trying to get in more books that might help students learn about various hobbies or crafts. Some of those topics include photography and genealogy. There will be more all of the time. "Better Photo Basics" by Jim Miotke just arrived and is a great resource if you are wanting to refine your craft.
